- This song is one of my very favorite Sioux songs. I always wanted to learn the guitar parts and yesterday night I finally decided to get motivated and sit down and pick them out by ear. It was fun/rewarding figuring out the song! This is my own sort of arrangement of it. The guitar parts I play in this video are based on both the 1987 standalone single version with Jon Klein on guitar AND the demo version with John Valentine Carruthers on guitar - which can be found as a bonus track on the Tinderbox reissue.
There are multiple guitar overdubs and layers in parts. What you're seeing me play in the video is about 80% of what was recorded.
NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED! I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THE MUSIC OR IMAGES USED. I AM USING THIS SONG UNDER THE FAIR USE DOCTRINE.
I had to invent a strange tuning to play this. I'm not sure if Klein and JVC played it in this tuning or not... But the tuning I used was: EADGA#D
Interesting recently i learned it and was able to do it using E standard tuning following both JVC and Klein structures to mold in the parts because you can barely hear kleins guitar other than the chorus
Great job!
Great to see you back Mitch, one of my Dad's favourite songs this
Cheers, Alfie! And that’s cool.
Wow you are back! nice to see you again, I love this song along with Star Crossed, those songs make Tinderbox my favourite Banshees record
Yes - I am back! It’s been a long while since I uploaded a proper cover. (I’ve uploaded a handful of videos over the past 9 months - but no strictly guitar covers). I love this song, too. It’s one of my favorite Banshees songs. I think everything about it is just brilliant.
Starcrossed is a great one, too! And Tinderbox is also my favorite Banshees record as well, actually.
Thanks for watching/commenting!
Check out the happyhaus a tribute to siouxsie and the banshees. Best tribute I've seen from los Angeles.
